Wherever you work or however you were hurt, our workers’ compensation attorneys have answers.
We serve injured workers across North and South Carolina.
When we leave home and our families for work, most of us take for granted that we’ll return at the end of the day or shift. And most of the time, we do—perhaps a little tired, but otherwise unharmed.
Unfortunately, not everyone is so lucky.
Every day across North and South Carolina, hardworking Americans are hurt and killed on the job. Some of these incidents are freak accidents, but many are the result of negligence on the part of an employer, coworker or third-party.
There’s no doubt that a serious work-related injury or illness can put tremendous hardship and strain on an individual and their family. The good news is that both North Carolina and South Carolina have workers’ compensation laws in place to provide financial support and relief for struggling workers who’ve been injured at work.
These monetary benefits for medical bills and lost wages are available to injured workers regardless of who caused the injury, as long as you were working in the course and scope of your employment.
Unfortunately, businesses and insurance companies don’t always play by the rules.
In North Carolina, there were 178 reported fatal work injuries in 2018. The industries with the highest death rate were:
- Private and commercial transportation
- Warehousing
- Construction and specialty trades
- Extraction
In South Carolina, over 32,000 nonfatal workplace injuries and illnesses were reported by private industry employers in 2016. The industries that accounted for the most reported cases were:
- Trade
- Transportation
- Utilities
- Manufacturing
- Natural resource and mining
- State and local government employees

How long do I have to file a workers’ comp claim?
In both North and South Carolina, the statute of limitations for workers’ compensation claims is 2 YEARS from the date of the injury (or discovery of the condition). After this period expires, you will no longer be able to file a claim and will lose your right to compensation forever. The sooner you speak with our attorneys about your case, the better.
